MAW - MAW'S PEAR OR PEACH
PRESERVES
 
6 c. sliced fresh fruit, peeled & cored
4 1/2 c. sugar
6 slices lemon with peel, remove seeds

Place in large saucepan. Stir well to make juice. Cook, stirring occasionally over medium heat when rolling boil is reached reduce heat and cook until fruit is done and juice thick, about 45 minutes. Be sure to stir often to prevent scorching. For long term storage, pour into hot sterilized jars and seal. May be kept in refrigerator indefinitely.
