WALDORF ASTORIA RED VELVET CAKE 
1 c. Crisco oil
2 c. flour
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. salt
1 bottle red food coloring
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. vinegar

Sift together dry ingredients; mix well. Add eggs, oil, food coloring and milk; fold in soda and vinegar. Bake at 350 degrees until cake springs back when lightly touched (about 35 minutes for layers, longer when bundt pan used).

FROSTING:

1 stick butter, softened
1 block of cream cheese, softened
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix butter and cream cheese together, add sugar in small amounts until entire box is in. Add vanilla. Spread on cake.
