A SMOTHERED STEAK 
2 lb. round steak
2 lg. onions
1 sm. can tomato paste
Flour
Salt & pepper to taste
Chili powder

Slice into steak edges every 3/4 inches to keep from curling. Pound flour into steak, salt and pepper. In skillet, brown steak in hot fat. Place in baking dish.

In a skillet brown onion which has been cut into rings. Place on steak. Make gravy from flour, shortening, water, tomato paste and seasonings. Pour over steak and onions. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
