ALABAMA BISCUITS | |
2 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 4 tbsp. sugar 1/4 c. warm water 1 sm. cake yeast 2/3 c. shortening 1 c. buttermilk Dissolve yeast in water. Mix all dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Add yeast mixture and milk. Knead. Cut out, thin and butter top. Cut out and stack in twos. Let rise 2 hours. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. |
