LAYERED SALAD 
Lettuce
Celery
Green pepper
Red onion
1 pkg. frozen peas
1 pt. mayonnaise
2 tbsp. sugar
8 slices bacon
4 to 6 oz. cheese

Use 1 head of lettuce; cut fine as in cabbage slaw - 1/3 to 1/2 cup each of diced celery, green pepper, and red onion. Layer on top of the lettuce. Cook peas; drain and layer on top of the vegetables. 1 pint (or less of mayonnaise); spread this over the top of layered ingredients (sealing). Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of sugar. Fry bacon and crumble over this. Grate cheese and layer on top. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Toss just before serving.
