BASIC CREAM PIE 
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. milk
2 heaping tbsp. flour
Pinch salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs, separated (save whites for meringue)

For custard pie: use basic recipe and add nutmeg to taste. For chocolate pie: use basic recipe, but add 3 tablespoon cocoa.

For coconut pie: use basic recipe, but add 1/2 cup coconut after thick. Sprinkle coconut on top. For lemon pie: use basic recipe, but substitute hot water for milk and add 1/4 cup more sugar. After thick, add juice and grated rind of one lemon. Omit vanilla.
