SWEDISH MEATBALLS 
1 lb. finely ground beef
1/2 c. dried bread crumbs
1 egg
2/3 c. milk
2 tbsp. grated onion
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. nutmeg

Mix together lightly. Gently form into small balls, 1/2-inch. Brown in hot fat. Add about 1/2 cup hot water; cover and simmer 20 minutes. Serve hot with slightly thickened pan gravy.

Yield: 6 servings.
