WINTER JAM 
1 (1 lb.) can water-packed pitted cherries
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen sliced strawberries, thawed
1/8 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
4 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 bottle liquid pectin

Drain the cherries, reserving the juice. Chop fine, then measure and add enough cherry juice to make 2 cups. Combine with the strawberries in a kettle. Add the lemon juice and sugar and mix well. Bring to a full rolling boil. Boil hard for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat and immediately stir in the pectin. Skim and stir to prevent floating fruit. Pour and seal.
