APPLE DUMPLINGS 
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
7/8 c. milk
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. Crisco

Mix and roll. Spread with butter, sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon and 3 chopped apples. Roll as a jelly roll, cut off in 1 inch pieces. Lay in pan. Make a sauce of 1 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon butter, 1 tablespoon flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 cup hot water and 1/2 lemon sliced. Boil 5 minutes. Pour over dumplings and bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees or until slightly brown. Delicious served warm with ice cream.
