BAKED FRENCH MEAT LOAF | |
5 slices French bread, cut in cubes 1 c. milk 2 lb. ground beef 1/2 c. chopped celery 1/2 c. grated pared raw carrot 1 sm. onion, grated 1 egg 1 tbsp. prepared horseradish 2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper Combine bread cubes and milk; let stand 5 minutes or until milk is absorbed. Mix lightly with ground beef, celery, carrot, onion, egg, horseradish, salt and pepper until well blended. Shape into a loaf in a shallow baking pan; make deep cuts in top to mark into 8 even portions. Bake in moderate 350 degree oven for 1 hour or until brown. |
