CHOCOLATE - MINT SNAPPERS 
1 (6 oz.) pkg. (1 c.) semi-sweet mint flavored morsels
2/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. corn syrup
1 3/4 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt 1 package semi-sweet mint morsels over hot (not boiling) water. Remove from heat. Combine shortening, sugar, and egg in bowl; beat until creamy. Blend in melted chocolate and corn syrup. Sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, and stir in gradually. Shape dough into balls, using 1 level tablespoon for each. Roll balls of dough in sugar (about 1/4 cup). Place 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Let stand a few minutes before removing from pan. Makes 3 dozen cookies.
