OATMEAL PECAN COOKIES 
1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 cups 3-minute oats
1 cup chopped nuts
Pecan halves

Cream shortening, sugar and brown sugar. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, soda and salt. Fold into small balls and place on greased cookie sheet. Flatten with pecan half.

Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.
