CARAMEL CORN | |
8 qt. popped corn 1 c. (2 sticks) butter 1 pkg. light brown sugar 1/2 c. Karo 1 scant tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla Melt butter, stir in brown sugar, Karo and salt. Bring to boil; stirring constantly, then boil 5 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and baking soda. Pour over popped corn; mix well. Place in pans. Bake in 250°F oven for 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes. Cool, then store in airtight containers. When adding soda to sugar mixture, hold pan over popcorn as baking soda makes mixture foam and it may run over edges of pan. |
