CARAMEL CORN OR POPCORN BALLS 
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
2 tbsp. Karo syrup
1/2 stick butter
1/4 tsp. salt

Mix together. Cook, without stirring until it begins to get brown spots. Remove from heat and add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Stir into the mixture and pour over the pan of popped corn. Stir well. This mixture of corn and syrup can be made into popcorn balls, if desired. Makes about a dozen. Approximately 1 gallon of popped corn.
