EASY COFFEE CAKE 
LAYER 1:
1/2 c. butter
1 c. flour
2 tbsp. cold water

LAYER 2:
1 c. boiling water
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
1 c. flour

Cut 1/2 cup butter into 1 cup flour until it resembles coarse meal; add cold water and stir until blended. Work as pie crust dough. Cut in half and press on ungreased cookie sheet making 2 strips 3"x12".

2ND LAYER: Combine boiling water and 1/2 cup butter in saucepan. Bring to boil and add vanilla and remove from heat. Stir in 1 cup flour. When dough forms into a ball, add eggs, one at a time, beating well and spread on dough's 1st layer. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Top with frosting and sprinkle with nuts.
