IRISH BREAD
1 tsp. baking soda
4 tsp. baking powder
1 cup raisins
3 tbsp. caraway seeds
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup dairy sour cream
1 cup milk
2 eggs

Mix dry ingredients. Add mixed wet ingredients to dry. Mix in bowl with spoon. Flour hands. Remove bowl contents to lightly floured counter or board.

Dough will be sticky, flour hands as needed.

Place dough in 2 1/2-quart baking dish (I like French CorningWare) that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray (Pam). Bake at 325°F for 1 hour 15 minutes (know your oven and adjust).

Note: you may leave out the raisins and caraway seeds and you will have a sweet bread. For those who cannot eat seeds, you can eliminate.

To serve: cut bread in half and slice, easier that cutting like a cake. Serve with butter, marmalade or plain.
