MRS. FIELD'S FAMOUS CHOCOLATE
CHIP COOKIES
 
Large batch!

1 lb. (4 sticks) butter
2 cups white sugar
2 cups brown sugar
4 eggs (add 1 more if not extra large)
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
4 cups all-purpose flour
5 cups oatmeal
2 (12 oz. ea.) pkgs. chocolate chips
1 (8 oz.) Hershey bar, grated
3 cups chopped nuts

Cream together butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. With mixer, add salt, baking soda and baking powder. With mixer add 1/2 flour and oatmeal. (Put small amount of oatmeal in blender at a time and blend until it turns to a powder).

By hand mix in balance of flour and oatmeal, chocolate chips, grated Hershey bar and nuts. Bake on ungreased sheet. Make golf ball size cookies.

Bake at 375°F for 6 to 10 minutes.

Makes just over 100 cookies.
