OLD-FASHIONED APPLE PIE 
3/4 to 1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 to 1 tsp. cinnamon
Dash nutmeg
Dash salt
6 to 7 tart, pared and thinly sliced apples
Pastry for 2 crust 9 inch pie
2 tbsp. butter

Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt; mix with apple slices. Line pie plate with pastry. Fill with apple mixture; dot with butter. Adjust top crust; crimp edges. Sprinkle with additional sugar for sparkle, if desired. Bake at 400 degrees for 50 minutes or until apples are tender.
