HAND MIXED BROWNIES 
1/2 lb. butter
4 oz. unsweetened chocolate (liquid or solid)
4 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream butter and chocolate (if solid, melt chocolate in saucepan). Add eggs, sugar, flour and vanilla. Stir well until blended. Add 1/2 cup nuts and pour into a greased 9 x 13 inch cake pan. Sprinkle with remainder of nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Cut into squares.

Variation: 3/4 cup oil and 1/2 cup cocoa may replace butter and chocolate. Add 1/4 teaspoon baking powder.
