INDIAN FRY BREAD AND TACOS | |
3 c. flour 1 1/3 c. warm water 1 1/4 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt TACO INGREDIENTS: Refried beans Shredded cheese Shredded lettuce Salsa, if desired Taco meat, if desired Mix flour, baking powder and salt. Add warm water and knead until dough is soft but not sticky. Stretch and pat. Tear off a small piece and roll 1/8 inch thick. Drop into a kettle of SIZZLING oil; hold down in middle. Brown on both sides approximately 30 seconds each side. Serve hot with refried beans, shredded lettuce and cheese, taco meat or salsa as desired. Fry Bread can also be served hot with powdered sugar for a breakfast "donut". |
