1 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1 egg
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
5 med. apples, peeled, chopped fine
1 c. nut meats

Cream shortening and sugar and egg and apples. Mix good. Sift flour, soda, cinnamon together and add to mixture and nuts. Put in 8 x 8 x 3 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Can be served with whipped cream or ice cream.
