6 c. thinly, sliced cucumbers 2 c. thinly, sliced white onions 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 1/2 c. apple cider vinegar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. mustard seed 1/2 tsp. celery seed 1/2 tsp. ground turmeric In glass jar or crockery jar, alternately layer cucumbers and onion. In medium saucepan combine all other ingredients and bring to a boil until the sugar is dissolved. Pour hot mixture over cucumbers and onions. Cool slightly, cover tightly and refrigerate at least 24 hours. Can be stored up to 1 month. |
