Cream together 3/4 cup butter. Gradually add 3/4 cup powdered sugar. Blending well. Add 2 tablespoons cream, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Mix well. Blend in 2 cups sifted flour and mix well. Chill. Roll out on flowered board. Shape. Bake on ungreased pan for 12 to 16 minutes at 325 degrees. Combine 1/2 pound caramels and 1/4 cup cream. Heat over water until caramels are melted, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and add 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup powdered sugar. Spread on cookies. 3/4 c. chocolate chips melted 1/4 c. milk 1 tbsp. butter 1 tsp. vanilla 1/3 c. powdered sugar Blend together. Put a small amount on caramel and top with nuts. |
