BAKED DEVILS FLOAT | |
2 c. water 1/2 c. sugar (brown or white) 2 tbsp. cocoa In the meantime, prepare 21 1/2 ounce brownie mix for fudgy-type brownies, or prepare basic brownie recipe. Add 1/2 to 1 cup walnuts or pecans (optional). Mix brownies according to directions and spread batter in greased large pan (9 x 13 inches). Cover batter with small marshmallows. Pour first mixture over all while hot. Bake at 325 degrees to 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes - sauce may or may not go to bottom. Serve warm, spooning sauce along with brownie for each serving. Serve plain or with cream, whipped cream, Dream Whip or ice cream. Unused Devils Float may be refrigerated and re-warmed when served. Sometimes I use the 8 ounce "Jiffy" brand brownie mix and use a 1 1/2 or 2 quart loaf pan. Mix the batter right in the pan; reduce the syrup ingredients by one half, as well as nuts and marshmallows. |
