1/2 c. oil
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. applesauce
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 tbsp. cocoa
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. chocolate pieces

Mix oil and 1 1/2 cups sugar; beat in eggs. Stir in flour, cinnamon, salt, applesauce, baking soda, and cocoa. Pour mixture into a greased and floured 9x13x2 inch pan. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons sugar, nuts, and chocolate pieces. This can be lightly stirred in or left on top. Bake at 350 30 to 40 minutes. Cover with foil if top becomes too brown. Serve with whipped topping, if you like.
