APPLESAUCE FRUIT CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
2 c. nuts (ground in blender)
1 c. raisins
1 c. butter
1 egg (beaten)
2 c. applesauce
4 oz. candied lemon peel
4 oz. candied orange peel
4 oz. cherries

Mix first 5 ingredients. Add nuts, raisins and candied fruit to the dry ingredients, set aside. Mix melted butter, beaten egg and applesauce together, then add to dry ingredients. Pour into large greased tube pan. Pan should be about half full.

Bake at 275 degrees for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Leave in pan until completely cooled. Very good.
