BROWN BREAD 
1 1/2 c. 40% bran flakes cereal
1 1/2 c. dark brown sugar
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1 c. raisins
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Mix bran flakes, brown sugar, and buttermilk together. (If allowed to stand for awhile it will give a more molasses flavor. Mix flour, baking soda, and salt. Add raisins. Put in greased large soup cans and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. You may put foil on top of can when placing in oven to keep moist. Makes 3 round loaves.
