GREEN TOMATO RELISH | |
4 c. ground onions 4 c. ground green tomatoes 1 (2 to 2 1/2 lb.) small head cabbage 12 green peppers 6 red peppers 1/2 c. salt 6 c. sugar 4 c. vinegar 1 1/2 tsp. turmeric 2 tbsp. mustard seed 1 tbsp. celery seed 2 c. water Grind all vegetables. Sprinkle with the salt. Let stand 4 hours. Drain. Cover with water again and drain 2 times. Combine sugar, vinegar, celery seed, turmeric, mustard seed and water. Bring to boil in large kettle, then add vegetables and bring to boil. Boil 20 minutes. Put in pint jars and seal. Process 10 minutes in hot water bath. |
