CHOCOLATE CHIP BROWNIES 
1 c. all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 1/4 tsp. vanilla
2 lg. eggs
1/2 c. nuts
2 tbsp. water

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Sift flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. Combine sugar, butter and water. Over a low fire, bring to boil and remove from heat. Add vanilla and 1/2 the chocolate chips (1 cup). Stir until chips are melted. Transfer mixture to a large bowl. Add eggs one at a time. Gradually blend in dry ingredients. Stir in remaining chocolate chips and nuts. Spread evenly into greased 9 inch square pan. Bake 30-35 minutes. Cool completely before cutting into squares. Yield 20 brownies.
