SPECIAL SCALLOPED POTATOES 
32 oz. frozen hash browns, thawed
1 1/2 sticks butter
1 tsp. salt
1 c. sour cream
2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
1 can cream of chicken soup, undiluted
1/2 c. chopped onions
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 c. crushed corn flakes

Mix potatoes with 1 stick melted butter. Add onions, cheese, soup, salt, pepper and sour cream. Turn into 9 x 13 inch greased pan. Mix corn flakes and remaining 1/2 stick of melted butter; spread over top of potatoes.

Bake at 350 degrees from 1 to 1 1/2 hours. This serves 6 to 8 generously.

You may use grated raw potatoes and it works fine. In fact, they are better.
