SAUSAGE RICE CASSEROLE | |
1 lb. loose Italian sausage 1 stick butter 1 c. chopped onion 1 c. chopped green pepper 4 stalks chopped celery 2 env. Lipton chicken noodle soup (omit noodles) 4 1/2 c. water 1 c. rice (not instant) 1 lg. can mushrooms with juice (fresh, if possible) Brown sausage and remove from pan, leaving grease. Add butter and chopped vegetables and saute in grease for 5 minutes. Boil soup and water, add rice, stirring constantly for 5 minutes. Mix everything together and bake in 350 degree oven for 20 to 30 minutes using 9"x13" pan. Better flavor if made ahead. |
