RED VELVET COCOA CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. red food color
1/4 c. cocoa
1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. unsifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Cream butter, sugar and vanilla in large bowl. Add eggs and food color. Blend well.

Combine flour, cocoa and salt. Add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture. Stir baking soda into vinegar. Fold carefully into batter (do not beat).

Pour into 2 greased and floured 9 inch layer pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pans. Cool completely. Frost with Fluffy Vanilla Frosting.
