THE BETTER CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 egg
1 c. whole wheat flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. wheat germ
1/2 c. chocolate chips

Note: You may add 1/2 cup chopped pecans or almonds. Shiny cookie sheets prevent burning.

Cream butter, sugar and vanilla. Add the egg. Combine flour, baking powder and wheat germ. Stir into the butter mixture, blending well. add chocolate chips (and pecans or almonds). Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
