ITALIAN SPAGHETTI SAUCE | |
1/2 c. onion sliced 2 tbsp. oil 1 lb. ground beef 2 cloves garlic, minced 2 (1 lb.) cans tomatoes 2 (8 oz.) cans seasoned tomato sauce 1 c. water 3 oz. can of mushrooms 1/4 c. chopped parsley 1 1/2 tsp. oregano OR sage OR half of each 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. thyme 1 bay leaf Cook onion in hot oil until golden. Add meat and garlic; brown lightly. Add remaining ingredients; simmer uncovered, 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until thick. Remove bay leaf. Serve sauce on hot cooked spaghetti. |
