2 1/2 c. chow mein noodles 1 (14 oz.) can Chinese vegetables 1 can tomato soup or celery or chicken 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1/2 can water 2 tbsp. soy sauce 1 c. or 4 oz. mushrooms 1 c. celery (chopped) 1 c. onions 2 lbs. ground beef (lean) 1/2 c. cashews Mix all ingredients except cashews; salt and pepper, if desired. In a casserole (clear or dirty) dirty for more flavor. Brown beef, drain. Add onion. Add balance except celery - if you prefer crisp celery add later, about midway in baking time. Bake at 350 degrees one hour. After baking is completed, spread cashews on top. If eating alone, use a clean casserole. If serving company, by all means use a clean casserole. This serves several people, more if they aren't hungry. Serves 7 or 8. |
