OKRA PILAU 
4 slices bacon
2 1/2 c. boiling water
2 c. sliced okra
2 c. chopped tomatoes
1 c. uncooked rice
Salt & pepper
1/4 tsp. dried basil

Fry bacon and set aside. Add boiling water to bacon drippings. Add all ingredients, except bacon and let come to a boil. Then cover. Cook 30 minutes until rice is tender. Add more water if needed. Crumble bacon over top. Serves 6 to 8.
