GRANDMA'S POLISH DELIGHTS (CRUELLERS) | |
2 c. unsifted flour 1 tbsp. melted butter 2 tbsp. sugar 1 egg, slightly beaten 1 tbsp. vinegar 1/2 c. sour cream Sift flour. Combine butter, sugar, and egg; add vinegar and sour cream to form a biscuit dough consistency, solid enough to roll. Divide into 4 parts. Roll each piece very thin on floured board, keeping the rest of the dough covered. Cut into 3/4 to 1 inch wide strips about 3 inches long. Cut a short lengthwise slit in the center of each strip. Pass one end of the strip through the slit. Fry in deep fat until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. |
