APRICOT SQUARES 
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/4 c. rolled oats (quick or reg.)
1 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. shortening

Mix ingredients for crust together until crumbly. Place half of crust mixture in bottom of 9x9 inch square pan, patting it down.

FILLING:

1 1/2 c. apricot preserves (jar)
2 tbsp. lemon juice

Mix the preserves and lemon juice together; spread the filling over the crust. Top with remainder of the crust mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
