APRICOT SQUARES 
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. quick rolled oats
1 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. butter
3/4 jar apricot preserves

Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in rolled oats and sugar. Cut in butter until crumbly. Pat 2/3 of crumb mixture into an 11 x 7 x 1 1/2 inch pan. Spread with preserves. Cover with remaining crumb mixture. Bake in moderate (375 degree) oven about 35 minutes or until browned. Cool; cut into squares. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen bars (3 x 1 inches).
