COTTAGE FRIED SWEETS 
2 (16 oz.) canned yams
4 to 6 strips bacon, cut up
1 med. onion, chopped
About 4 tbsp. brown sugar

Fry bacon until crisp, remove and reserve. Saute onion in drippings until tender. Slice sweet potatoes into more or less uniform pieces, add to skillet. Return bacon to skillet.

Sprinkle brown sugar over all. Turn with pancake turner until a little browned. Wonderful on a winter's evening.
