JUBILEE JUMBLES | |
1/2 c. shortening 1 c. packed brown sugar 1/4 c. granulated sugar 2 eggs 1 c. evaporated milk 1 tsp. vanilla 2 3/4 c. flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 c. chopped nuts Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix shortening, sugars and eggs; stir in milk and vanilla, then add flour, soda and salt, mixing well. Stir in nut. Drop on greased baking sheet and bake 10 minutes or until browned. Cool and frost with burnt butter glaze. Burnt Butter Glaze: Heat 2 tablespoons butter in saucepan until golden brown being careful not to burn it. Add 2 cups of confectioners' sugar and 1/4 cup evaporated milk and stir until smooth. Can use coconut, raisins or any other fruit. |
