LEMON ORANGE ICE BOX CAKE | |
4 egg yolks 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 c. lemon juice 1/4 c. orange juice Put this in double boiler and cook until thick. (Will coat spoon). dissolve 1 package Knox gelatin in 1/4 cup cold water and add to custard. Add 1 tablespoon orange rind. Beat egg whites until stiff. Beat in 1/2 cup sugar and fold into custard. Cover bottom of pan with vanilla wafer crumbs or graham cracker crumbs. Put custard on top of crumbs and place in refrigerator to set. Serve with crumbs on top with whipped cream. |
