PEANUT BUTTER CAKE 
1/3 c. soft butter
2 1/4 c. sifted cake flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/3 c. peanut butter
1 c. milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Chocolate peanut butter frosting

Cream butter. Sift in flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add peanut butter and 2/3 cup milk. Mix until all flour is dampened. Beat 2 minutes at low speed of electric mixer, or 300 vigorous strokes by hand. Add 1/3 cup milk, eggs and vanilla and beat 2 minutes. Pour into two 9 inch layer pans, lined on the bottom with paper. Bake in moderate oven (375 degrees) about 25 minutes. Cool and frost.
