PINEAPPLE CHERRY BARS 
2 c. sifted flour
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 (8 3/4 oz.) can crushed pineapple
2 beaten egg yolks
1 c. maraschino cherries, chopped and drained

Combine flour, brown sugar, salt, then cut in butter; set aside 1 cup. Press the rest into a 9x13x2 inch pan and bake in 350 degree oven for 15 minutes. Cool.

In saucepan, combine granulated sugar, cornstarch, pineapple, egg yolks. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly. Heat until thick and bubbly. Remove from heat and stir in cherries. Spread over baked layer. Sprinkle on reserved crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool before cutting.
