MEXICAN PECAN CANDY 
2 c. white sugar
3/4 c. milk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. coarsely chopped pecans

Mix first 3 ingredients in DEEP pan and cook to soft ball stage. Remove from heat and add next 3 ingredients. Stir until creamy; it will take a little while, but it sets up quickly after that.

Drop by tablespoons onto foil that you have greased well with butter and then sprinkled lightly with salt. Let cool.
