HOT TAMALE PIE 
1 lb. ground beef
2 med. onions, chopped
1 tsp. garlic powder
2 tbsp. chili powder, or more to taste
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 c. white cornmeal
1 tbsp. oil

Brown meat in 1 tablespoon of oil. Add onions, garlic powder, salt, chili powder. Pour into 4 quart pan and add enough hot water to cover meat. Simmer 30 minutes and while it is boiling add cornmeal, a little at a time, stirring constantly until thickens and cornmeal is cooked.
