UNKY BOB'S CABBAGE CASSEROLE 
4 cups cabbage, shredded
1 c. raw brown rice, cooked
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 cup onion, sliced thin
1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
1 pkg Equal or 1 T. sugar
salt and pepper, to taste

Cook the cup of raw brown rice until tender. Shred cabbage and parboil it until limp (reserve water). Cook ground beef and sliced onion together, drain fat. Mix ground beef with cooked rice, add salt and pepper to taste.

Take a casserole dish and add a layer of cabbage, then a layer of the ground beef mixture. Repeat, ending with cabbage. Mix package of Equal sweetener or sugar into tomato sauce then pour on top.

If casserole appears dry during cooking, just add some of the reserved cabbage water.

Bake at 350°F for 1¼ hours.
