CHERRY NUT BREAD 
3/4 c. flour
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 c. walnuts
1 c. drained maraschino jar cherries
1 lb. dates, optional
3 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift first 4 ingredients twice and add cherries, walnuts (dates) optional. Add 3 beaten eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla; mix well. Put in greased loaf pan lined with wax paper. Level batter before baking. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
