CORNMEAL COOKIES 
3/4 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. cornmeal
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. vanilla
1/2 c. raisins, nuts, etc.

In large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Add egg and mix well. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Drop dough by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Yield: 3 dozen.

FOR CHOCOLATE ONES: Mix 1/4 cup cocoa into dough and add 1/4 cup of milk.
