CHINESE BEEF 
Brown strips of chuck steak, trimmed and cut on the diagonal and dredged in flour with salt and pepper added. Add 1 cup boiling water and 1/2 to 1 package dry onion soup mix. Simmer 20-30 minutes. Slice 4 large onions and 2 large green peppers; add and simmer 5-10 minutes.

Mix 2-3 teaspoons cornstarch with 1/2 cup cold water. Add to simmering beef mixture and simmer until thickened. Add soy sauce. Serve with hot rice or Chinese noodles.
